Privacy Policy

    Last updated: 9 October 2026

This policy explains what information LocalBizNigeria (“we”, “us”) collects when you use localbiznigeria.com, how we use it, and your rights. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where applicable, other data protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR.

    Information we collect

    • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, the page you signed up from, the date, and your approximate country (derived from your connection, not your exact location).
    • Messages you send us: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include.
    • Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser type and pages requested to deliver the site, keep it secure and measure overall traffic.

    How we use it

    • To send the newsletter you asked for (legal basis: your consent). Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
    • To reply to your messages (legal basis: legitimate interest / your request).
    • To protect the site from spam and abuse, and to understand which content is useful (legitimate interest).
    • To show advertising that keeps the site free (see below).

We do not sell your personal information.

    Service providers

    • Cloudflare hosts the website and stores newsletter subscribers. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that sign-ups come from people, not bots. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
    • Google may provide advertising (Google AdSense) and site analytics.

    Cookies and advertising

We use or may use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may then not work as intended.

    How long we keep data

We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period. We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request.

    Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or object to processing by emailing hello@localbiznigeria.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or your local data protection authority.

    Children

This site is intended for adults running or planning a business. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

    Changes

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Questions? See our contact page.
